InfoCON Widget
This plugin simply takes the feed, direct from InfoCON and outputs a graphic depending on the current “internet status”. Graphics are provided with the plugin (see below) but are easy to modify to suit your blog or imagination.

Installation Instructions (Widget)
As a widget, installation couldn’t be much easier:
- Unzip the downloaded package and drop the InfoCON folder in your Wordpress plugins folder
- Log into your WordPress admin panel
- Go to Plugins and “Activate” the plugin
- Go to Presentation, Sidebar Widgets
- Drag the InfoCON plugin to the right
- Check your blog to make sure it’s working!
You edit the title for the widget in the normal way (clicking on the little blue-topped square) while in the admin area. If you have suggestions for other configurable options, you let me know.
Installation Instructions (Plugin)
If you prefer not to use the widgeting system, you can also install the InfoCON the normal way. To do so, follow these steps:
- Unzip the downloaded package and drop the InfoCON folder in your Wordpress plugins folder
- Log into your WordPress admin panel
- Go to Plugins and “Activate” the plugin
- Add
<?php infocon_icon(); ?>to your Wordpress theme source where you want the InfoCON icon to appear on your blog (sidebar.php is recommended). - Check your blog to make sure it’s working!
